Event Cache

Active for creation

The event cache is a type of geocache that centers around a social gathering of geocachers.

"Occasionally, local geocachers and geocaching organizations designate a time and location to meet and discuss geocaching. After the event the cache is archived."[1]

Events can range from simple to elaborate depending on the purpose of the event. Some of the more common event themes include:

  • Meet and Greet
  • Meet and Cache
  • Flash Mob
  • Picnic
  • Competition

Themes are only limited by the imagination of the event organizer(s). If popular, events may become regular events, held anywhere from once a month to once a year.
