The term lackey arose as a way to describe those people who performed the behind-the-scenes maintenance to keep Geocaching.com functioning. It is often seen as a humorous referance to the grunt work they do.
Identifying if a user is a lackey requires nothing more than looking at their profile. At the top of their profile, it will read "Profile for Lackey".
